Lesson 10_The YodBedrock 101

What is the yod? ....

The yod is the working hand.

Whatever the hand finds to do, it is to be done with all one’s might. The working hand produces and shows a person’s creativity.

The symbolism of the modern form carries the idea of the vanishing point from which everything is derived, even from the invisible hand of the God of creation.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)

What does the ‘yod’ remind us about our Lord and savior?

“Let us make man in our image.” The Lord Jesus Christ accomplished the work of God, his Father, when he fulfilled all that God intended from the foundation of the world and cried from the cross, “It is finished!”

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1–3)

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
